Great Southern is interested in acquiring or leasing additional land suitable for the establishment of Eucalyptus plantations, capable of producing commercial quantities of timber produce and meeting the following specifications and requirements:
- gently undulating for ease of harvest
- located in regions where the average annual reported rainfall exceeds 650mm
- preferably located in one of the following regions: South West & South Coast of Western Australia; south west Victoria; south east South Australia; Kangaroo Island; south east Queensland; or northern New South Wales
- to be inspected by an independent forester and certified as being capable, under suitable growing conditions over a 10 year period from the year of planting, of producing a yield of Eucalyptus green wood fibre averaging 250 gross cubic metres of timber per hectare
